Fernando is 3-years old and his mother took him to the public hospital because his feet are twisted. The doctors said his problem could not be fixed.

We sent Fernando to a private hospital and were told that his problem can be addressed with an operation.

On October 10th we took him to Monterrey for tests and the next step will be an MRI (cost $540).

Ian

Fernando at his home

Eleven years old, Ian is a victim of Mexico's hospital serving the poor. He was admitted to a public hospital for appendicitises and after the surgery he could not move his foot. Doctors at a private hospital said there was nerve damage!

Ian will be scheduled for an MRI to see if the situation can be helped.

The next step will be an MRI (cost $540).

Sofia

Fernando at his home

Sofia is 21-months old and was born with developmental dyspepsia of the hip (DDH), a condition where the "ball and socket" joint of the hip does not properly form in babies and young children.

On October 10, 2022, she was evaluated by Shriners doctors.

Transportation costs for Sofia and her mother is $400.
