Ian suffered from a cleft palate, cleft lip, and hydrocephalus (commonly known as water on the brain).

Several doctors insisted that surgery was impossible. However,We found a specialist and he operated on Ian to relieve the pressure on his brain.

The photo on the left was taken after the operation and his swelling had greatly decreased.

On November 14, 2019, Ian was excited and happy. He was in hospital awaiting his first surgery for his cleft plate and lip. Photo on left is per-surgery.

The surgery went very well. The photo shows Ian in the recovery room. His mother was so very excited and happy when the doctor told her that Ian came through fine! She cried tears of joy and was so happy when she saw the huge difference in her son's appearance.

Ian is doing so well that doctors allowed him to return to a hotel in Mexico City. He will be going back and forth to the hospital from that hotel room during the next 2-weeks for more evaluations and exams. (The hotel stay is a lot less expensive than the hospital stay). Look at him! Isn't this great!

"Ian Alonso is doing great, he had an appointment in Thursday and doctor says that he is progressing so well and so fast, that he approved his return home! He did not need to wait the whole two weeks in Mexico City. He came home yesterday and today Ian woke up at his own home with this smile and looking so nice. He is happy and the family are so thankful to all of you for making this miracle happen." from Brenda Martinez.
