"Your work matters. You're walking the streets and working directly with the often forgotten poor."
— Former President Vicente Fox of Mexico
After hearing him speak in Houston, I was honored to join former President Vicente Fox at a small private dinner at his home. He later gave me a personal tour of Centro Fox, a remarkable center for leadership and free expression built on the site of his grandfather’s home from the Mexican Revolution. His words of support for Paper Houses Across the Border were deeply meaningful and unexpected.
“I walked the colonias with them. I saw the hunger and the hope. This is not charity—it’s transformation.”

These awards are not ours alone — they belong to you.
Your generosity has helped hundreds of families in Mexico find medical care, dignity, and a future — without having to leave their homeland. Some were Haitian families who stopped walking north because someone finally saw them where they stood.
We've done this quietly, without salaries or fanfare, because it's simply the right thing to do.
